The Malaysia Art Biennale (MAB2018) is a private initiative organised by Daiichi Modern Art Gallery (Founded by Dato' Keik Hock Tai) once every two years.
Malaysia Art Biennale aims to promote art tourism of Malaysia whilst strengthening the international art exchange and development of art. This special event is an excellent platform for an exchange of art and views among participating artists. It also provides artists with opportunities to share their art expertise and practices shaped by different political, social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
Activities include art exhibition, art seminars, art and cultural exchanges, indoor art creations, and outdoor paintings at historical and popular places in Kedah and Penang.
The theme of the 3rd Malaysia Art Biennale 2018 is Universal Harmony. Harmony is the flow of life. It is about a world of peace and cooperation, love, and happiness. Everything strives for harmony, for balance, especially the natural world around us. As Bill Alexander once said, I see in the trees all the harmony and balance of Nature. Art has no boundaries. Expression through art in keeping with this theme not only promotes friendship and understanding, it also helps to strengthen our bond with each other. Let us together promote ‘Universal Harmony’ for a better world!
